About Superior Marine

A hands-on approach to caring for every vessel.

Founded in Mystic in 2019, Superior Marine has grown through repeat clients, referrals, and trusted relationships with boat owners, marinas, and boatyards throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island.

The story

Built one vessel—and one relationship—at a time.

Superior Marine began with straightforward washdowns and seasonal detailing for local boat owners. As clients returned and referred others, the work expanded to larger yachts, more complex finishes, and longer-term maintenance relationships.

That growth has never changed the way the business operates. Each project begins with understanding the vessel, its condition, and the owner’s priorities. The goal is to recommend the right level of care, communicate clearly, and leave the boat looking and feeling properly maintained.

Today, Superior Marine provides washdowns, polishing, correction, protection, and specialty detailing throughout southeastern Connecticut and coastal Rhode Island.

Operating principles

The details behind the detail.

Premium service is not a label. It is the accumulation of decisions made before, during, and after the work.

01

Assess before promising.

Age, finish type, prior correction, cracking, oxidation, access, and owner expectations shape what is responsibly achievable.

02

Use the least aggressive effective process.

Test spots and measured correction protect the remaining finish while pursuing meaningful improvement.

03

Communicate what the surface is telling us.

Clear recommendations, realistic expectations, and straightforward updates matter as much as the finished gloss.

04

Own the result.

Projects are owner-overseen with direct accountability for quality, presentation, and the final walkthrough.

05

Respect the marina and vessel.

Clean work areas, considerate access, organized equipment, and care around neighboring boats are part of professional service.

06

Protect what was corrected.

Maintenance guidance and the right protective system help preserve the result beyond delivery day.

Knowledge shared

Product knowledge should translate into better decisions.

Chase has led owner demonstrations on product selection, polishing, and maintaining a boat’s finish. The value is not the presentation itself—it is the discipline of understanding why one product, pad, or process is appropriate and another is not.

Clients receive the same straightforward guidance after a project so the corrected and protected finish is easier to maintain.

Clear expectations. Surface-specific work. Direct accountability.

Meet the owner

Chase Flynn founded Superior Marine in Mystic in 2019 and grew the company through hands-on work, customer referrals, and repeat seasonal relationships. What began as a local detailing service has developed into a trusted resource for owners of everything from center consoles to larger cruising and sportfishing yachts.

A graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Business with a B.S. in Management and a minor in Analytics, Chase brings an organized and practical approach to each project. The heart of the business, however, remains simple: listen to the owner, understand the vessel, and do the work carefully.

Chase stays directly involved in evaluating the condition, selecting the process, coordinating the work, and reviewing the finished result. That involvement is especially important on larger yachts and mixed-surface projects, where paint, gelcoat, metal, clear vinyl, teak, and other materials all require different care.

For clients, the benefit is straightforward: the person discussing the plan is also accountable for how the work is carried out.
